Secrets of Belize is an ongoing, personal project which began in 1999. This tiny country in Central America is a seductive and captivating place to photograph. But beyond Caribbean allure, Belize is a country of contrasts and culture clashes. Here, traditions thrive and collide with the contemporary. Lifelong citizens mingle with tourists and expatriates. Village fishermen share the sea with the new yacht club. Kids scrub clothes on washboards while listening to the latest latino rap star.

With each journey to Belize, I learn more about its past while observing the rapid changes thrusting Belize into the future. Secrets of Belize is about the country’s mystique. It is about what I have yet to discover.
